Halle the Gymnast

Halle loves to take gymnastics. She is really good too! She does the most beautiful cartwheels. She takes this class with kids that are all older (and I must say that she is the best in the class!) Here are a couple of pics...sorry that they are blurry :)

Kyle's Bedroom

When I was 11, I remember being in my room all of the time. I had posters of Kirk Cameron hanging on the wall. I think that is it??? I would also purposely mess things up so that I could clean them again. Call me OCD...it obviously didn't stick into adulthood! Kyle has been drawing lots of posters to hang in his room. Of course, they are all associated with skateboarding. I think that he is a really great artist. I never thought that I would let my kids do anything they want with their walls...(I am a bit particular about it:) But I let that go and I have allowed Kyle to do whatever he wants with his room. So here are a few pics of his creation. For his birthday he got these really cool pillowcases of skateboarders from his cousins, Emmy, Claire and Cohen. What a fun room...

Afternoon Drawings

I can't say enough about the beautiful weather that we have been having. It has been so nice to go outside everyday after school and hang out. We do that often with the neighbors down the street. Here are a couple of pics of Halle and Gabe trying their hand at chalk drawings. I think that Gabe got more on himself then on the sidewalk!

Kyle's 11th Birthday

First of all, I can't even believe that I have an 11 year old. Am I really that old? Kyle is changing so much! In a good way! I just hope that all of this puberty stuff isn't too bad to deal with...hormones, mood changes, attitude, etc.!! Just kidding Kyle. You are an amazing son and I am sooo grateful that the Lord has blessed our family with a son and big brother like you. Kyle has already been babysitting for us too. He is actually really good at it. I think that he is way more responsible when we are not around. He has even had to change a diaper...and the girls stood by and laughed the whole time!! Sorry Kyle. Anyway, he is a talented kid. He is really good at skateboarding, rip stick (2 wheeled skateboard), art, etc. He loves to read and he is really good in school. I can't wait to see what the next year entails. For his birthday, he got a video Ipod (which he thought was soooo cool). From his Mimi and Papa he got a gift card for Itunes (perfect for the new Ipod) and some cash. From his Nana and Papa he got a sling shot. He loves to go out and shoot the target on a cardboard box. We went to Fuddruckers as a family and he brought his really good friend Hayden.

Green Thumb??

"What?" you may say...Chelon, a gardener? Hmmmmm...well, I thought that I would try to make this house look beautiful:) Considering we have nice weather about 10 months out of the year, I thought we should try having a colorful yard. So last Saturday we went to Home Depot and spent a pretty penny on stuff for the yard. The weather was amazing. It was over 80*. Wait, did I say 80*?....I meant 86*. I love this Texas weather :) Here is a picture of what we did...I will post a picture a couple of weeks from now to show the progress of the colorful flowers. Notice the hot "Ladies Man" on the rocker.

Rock Band!

I don't know how many of you have played this, but it is sooo much fun! I am not sure about all of the hard rock...not quite my genre. But I love playing the drums. I am pretty good too! It is fun to watch all of the kids and Steve play. The girls are really good at the singing. Kyle is really good at the guitar. Me...hmmmmm, not so good! That one is really hard. I think this game would be even more fun if they put country music, High School Musical, Hannah Montana, Grease, etc. That sort of music would be a hit!

Utah Highlights 2007

Yes, I know, I am a bit behind in my blogging. SORRY! I just wanted to put a few of the fun pics when we went to Utah for Christmas.

The kids were so excited to see snow! Their cousins, Emmy and Claire, came down to play in the snow. It was fun to see them build their snow family.

Christmas Eve at the Allman's. These are there new Christmas PJ's. The girls were about 10 times to big. I think that there should be a policy about sizes in kids. Every brand should be the same :)

An impromptu family picture with the Colquitt's. Merry Christmas!

My looooonnnnngggg hair....gone in an instant!!! Thanks Brooke...I love you :)

I was excited to go Utah first, to see family and second, to get my hair done! I was soooo tired of the length. My sister ended up cutting off about 5 inches!! CRAZY. Now, of course, I wish that it were long :) But oh well. It will grow back!

Saying goodbye...It doesn't get any easier! We had a wonderful time. We were especially grateful for all of the fun memories that we made. The kids loved all of the snow. I loved the shopping and Steve loved the time off! We will be back!! Probably not this year...But sometime!!
